WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on Tuesday’s election results:
“The fact Bernie Sanders won’t go away and continues to outraise Hillary Clinton is more bad news for a campaign that should be winning handily in every aspect this deep into the primary calendar. No matter how many times she races to the left, Hillary Clinton can’t outrun her flip flops on trade and virtually every other issue that have left Democrats uninspired by her poll-tested candidacy. While Democrats stay home in droves as they choose between two fundamentally flawed candidates, Republicans are turning out in record numbers in our primaries and caucuses to support a field of candidates offering the course correction America desperately needs. Our country cannot afford to spend another four years pursuing a failed liberal agenda. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders promise to send us further down a path that has made America less safe, less prosperous, and less free. Only our Republican candidates are putting forth policies that will put our country back on track and bring the opportunity and security President Obama has failed to deliver."
