Sweet News in Missouri, Just Not for Claire

Christiana Purves - February 1, 2018

Sweet news out of Kansas City today, as Hostess announced bonuses of $1,250 to their employees thanks to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Hostess employees will receive $750 in cash and a $500 contribution to their 401(K).

And that’s not all…employees will also be receiving a year’s worth of free treats! Now that sure sounds like a sweet deal. Flashback to Nancy Pelosi’s out-of-touch comment on $1,000 bonuses equaling “crumbsfor Americans—try Ho Hos, Nancy.

“Since the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, about 300 companies have announced higher wages, expanded insurance, retirement benefits and cash bonuses for their employees. As these announcements keep rolling in, voters have to wonder if Claire McCaskill has realized yet that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a sweet deal for Missourians -- or if she thinks higher wages, increased benefits and Ho Hos are merely 'crumbs.'” – RNC Spokesperson Christiana Purves
