It’s a big day for taxes in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In Richmond, Terry McAuliffe rolled out his final two-year budget proposal this morning. And to absolutely no one’s surprise, it contains higher taxes on Virginians
. If Democrats like Jennifer Wexton and Terry McAuliffe get their way, it will get even more expensive to live in NoVa: higher prices for gas, higher taxes when you sell your home, to name just a few.
Meanwhile, Republicans are doing exactly what they promised to do — working hard to cut taxes and put more money into the pockets of all Virginians.
As you cover today’s tax news, please consider the following quote from me:
“The contrast couldn’t be more clear. The moment Democrats are convinced voters aren’t looking, they call for higher taxes that will make life harder for millions of Virginians. Republicans ran on a pledge of cutting taxes, and are on the cusp of keeping that promise in a historic way. The choice is simple: if you want smaller paychecks, support Democrats. If you want bigger paychecks, vote for Republicans.” — Garren Shipley, RNC spokesman
