Terry's 2020 Kick-off: Part II

Garren Shipley - January 10, 2018

I hope you’re as excited for tonight’s State of the Commonwealth address as I am. During the speech we'll no doubt hear the second phase of Terry McAuliffe’s 2020 campaign kick off.

Terry is undoubtedly going to take credit for a lot of the hard work done by General Assembly Republicans over the past few years, such as closing budget shortfalls, allocating more money to schools, and generally working to improve Virginia’s business climate. TMac has one chance to re-introduce himself to Democrat primary voters — which should make tonight’s speech a pander-fest in the extreme.

But here are a few things you won’t hear Terry McAuliffe take credit for:
• Sky high tolls on I-66, despite having called a Republican who warned that they were coming a liar.
• Losing $1.4 million in taxpayer dollars to a fake Chinese website.
• Clearing the way for violent felons to get guns, despite their convictions.
And of course, there’s always GreenTech

As you cover the speech, please consider the following quote from me, and feel free to share these campaign signs we’ve made to help Terry get his 2020 campaign started right!

“Terry McAuliffe couldn’t make it any more clear that he wants to be President. Unfortunately for Terry McAuliffe, we’ve all seen his record as governor.” — Garren Shipley, RNC spokesman
