House Democrats' 100 Days In Office Have Been Marked By Lies, Extremist Rhetoric And Unachievable, Unaffordable Policies
The Facts:
DEMOCRATS HAVE SOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BLATANT LIES ABOUT THEIR TIME IN THE MAJORITY
Last week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claimed Democrats have received an "A +" in their effort since regaining the majority of the House of Representatives.
However, since taking over the House, Democrats have pushed the budgetary limits of the American people by suggesting a government takeover of health care, unachievable climate goals and other costly measures that put the Democrats' political games ahead of the American people's needs.
DEMOCRATS OFFER BIG POLICIES AT AN UNATTAINABLE COST
Instead of working with Republicans, Democrats have vowed to proceed on a government takeover of health care, by suggesting their own single-payer health care plan aimed at eliminating private insurance .
This legislation would rip potentially hundreds of millions off of their individual insurance without any method to pay for the overhaul, a cost that could exceed upwards of $32 million .
Democrats have made a mockery of climate change solutions through the cost of thier $93 trillion " progressive wish list " called the Green New Deal .
The resolution attempts to create social change through an expensive plan that's open ended and potentially reliant on high taxes .
In addition to their unattainable policies, Democrats failed to even present a budget counter proposal to President Trump's own budget.
DEMOCRATS HAVE FOCUSED ON DIVIDING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE RATHER THAN UNITE THEM
In a leftward lurch, Democrats have overwhelming failed to stand up to pervasive the anti-Semitic sentiments that have taken over the party.
House leadership refused to explicitly condemn the Anti-Semitic remarks of members of their party including Rep. Ihlan Omar; just weeks later, Omar would go on to downplay 9-11 as a day when "some people did something."
Democrats have embraced radical positions including refusing to vote on a bill that works to prevent infanticide more than thirty times .
DEMOCRATS WOULD RATHER OPEN THE BORDERS THAN PROTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
Democrats have aligned their interests in obstructing President Trump by promoting open borders that allow the flow of illicit drugs and criminals into the United States.
By allowing illicit drugs like fentanyl to enter the U.S. from the southern border, Democrats are increasing the vulnerability of thousands of Americans affected by the opioid crisis.
DEMOCRATS WASTED TIME AND MONEY ON A WITCH HUNT THAT PROVED NO COLLUSION
Spurred on by Democrats, after nearly 2 years, the Special Counsel's Investigation and Congress spent an estimated $25,000,000 taxpayer dollars on a fictional witch hunt aimed at invalidating the candidacy of President Trump.
In seeking information regarding collusion between Russia and Trump officials, Democrats fell short when the report yielded no confirmed collusion .
President Trump was further vindicated in the Democratic witch hunt when the Department of Justice found President Trump was not guilty of obstructing justice .
Last Week, Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi Claimed That Democrats Have Done An "A+" Job Since Taking Over The House In 2019
In April 2019, Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Claimed That Democrats Have Receive An "A+" For Their Work That's Been Completed In The Nearly 100 Days Of Democrats Control. POLITICO'S ANNA PALMER: "You are almost 100 days in, give yourself a grade for how House Democrats are doing so far? SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE NANCY PELOSI (D-CA): "A+" POLITICO'S JAKE SHERMAN: "We grading on a curve or - " PELOSI: "Anyway you want to do it, certainly on a curve we go beyond a+ compared to what was before." ( Remarks at Politico Playbook Breakfast , 4/2/19, 42:57 - 43:17)
WITHIN THEIR 100 DAYS OF GOVERNANCE, DEMOCRATS HAVE FORCED THEIR COSTLY LEFT-LEANING IDEAS ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
In February 2019, House Democrat Pramila Jayapal Announced A Single-Payer, Government Run, Health Care Plan Aimed At Eliminating Private Insurance For Millions Of Americans
In February 2019, Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) And House Democrats Introduced A Single-Payer Health Care Bill. "House Democrats introduced a plan Wednesday to insure all Americans through Medicare, as the push for a sweeping shift to universal health coverage gains more traction ahead of pivotal elections next year. The 'Medicare-for-all' proposal, introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., will face backlash from critics who have warned about its potentially enormous cost - and Republicans who aim to cast Democrats as radicals drifting toward socialism." ( CNBC , 2/27/19)
- 107 Cosponsors Have Signed Onto The Bill. ( H.R. 1384 , Introduced 2/27/19)
Jayapal's Bill Prohibits Health Insurance Companies From Competing With The Government-Run, Single-Payer Health Care System. "Beginning on the effective date described in section 106(a), it shall be unlawful for- (1) a private health insurer to sell health insurance coverage that duplicates the benefits provided under this Act; or (2) an employer to provide benefits for an employee, former employee, or the dependents of an employee or former employee that duplicate the benefits provided under this Act." ( Representative Pramila Jayapal , Accessed ¾/19, p. 8 - 9)
- According To Jayapal, That Would Effectively Mean There Would Be "No Private Insurance Companies" To Provide Health Insurance To Any Americans. "'We mean a complete transformation of our health care system and we mean a system where there are no private insurance companies that provide these core benefits,' Jayapal told reporters Tuesday." ( Vox , 2/26/19)
This Would Result In "Massive Short-Term Disruption" In Both Costs And Removal Of Americans Off Their Current Health Care Plans. "But there's no getting around the fact that any full single-payer proposal would entail massive short-term disruption - both in the trillions of new taxes (Vox's Matt Yglesias looked at some potential ways to raise them) and in Americans being thrown off their current health care plans." ( Vox , 7/24/17)
According To A 2017 Census Bureau Estimate, Upwards Of 217 Million Americans Have A Private Health Insurance Plan. ( U.S Census Bureau , Accessed 1/29/19, p. 10)

Jayapal's Bill Was Released With No Cost Estimate Or Funding Mechanism Despite Having Provisions That Make It Even More Expensive Than Bernie Sanders' Plan
Jayapal's Plan Includes Coverage For Long-Term Care Services For Nursing Services, A Benefit That Neither The Current Medicare Program Nor Sanders' Single-Payer Plan Include. "Jayapal's plan also includes coverage for long-term care services for nursing services. The current Medicare program does not include this benefit, nor does Sanders's single-payer plan in the Senate." ( Vox , 2/26/19)
- This Additional Benefit Would Make The Plan "More Expensive" Than What Sanders' Proposed. "That would make the health care system she envisions more generous than the one Sanders has proposed, but also more expensive." ( Vox , 2/26/19)
Now In 2019, House Democrats Have Done The Same By Not Including Any Methods To "Pay" For The "Health-Care Overhaul." "The proposal notably does not include methods to pay for the health-care overhaul." ( CNBC , 2/27/19)
Jayapal Attributed Some Of The Funding To "Higher Taxes On The Wealthy Or Contributions From Employers" As Potential Options To Fund The Plan. "Jayapal mentioned higher taxes on the wealthy or contributions from employers as potential ways to fund it." ( CNBC , 2/27/19)
- However, Some Have Argued That Any Wealth Tax Would Be "Potentially Unconstitutional." "Others Have Argued That Any Wealth Tax Would Be Dauntingly Complicated, And Potentially Unconstitutional. Sanders Has Described It As One Way To Spread The Concentration Of Wealth." ( Buzzfeed , 9/20/17)
The Most Recent Estimate Of Senator Bernie Sanders' Single-Payer Plan Has Been Estimated To Cost $32.6 Trillion Over The Next 10 Years. "Sen. Bernie Sanders' 'Medicare for all' plan would increase government health care spending by $32.6 trillion over 10 years, according to a study by a university-based libertarian policy center." ( The Associated Press , 7/30/18)
In February 2019, House Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Introduced The Green New Deal, A Resolution That Would Implement $93 Trillion Worth Of Government Programs With No Way Of Paying For Them
In February 2019, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), And Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) Introduced A Framework Defining Their Goals For A Green New Deal. "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., think they have a start to a solution. Thursday they are introducing a framework defining what they call a 'Green New Deal' - what they foresee as a massive policy package that would remake the U.S. economy and, they hope, eliminate all U.S. carbon emissions. That's a really big - potentially impossibly big - undertaking." ( NPR , 2/7/19)
- The Green Deal Is The Brainchild Of The Left Wing Progressive Group Sunrise Movement And Freshman Congresswoman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. "After the midterms, Sunrise organized sit-in protests at Pelosi's office, including one joined by Ocasio-Cortez, prompting the incoming Speaker to launch a new Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. The platform is a hit among progressive voters, and support for the Green New Deal is emerging as a litmus test on the 2020 campaign trail. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), one of the first declared Democratic candidates, has embraced 'the idea of a Green New Deal' in her presidential platform. Beto O'Rourke calls himself 'supportive of the concept.'" ( Rolling Stone , 1/7/19)
The Green New Deal Will Cost $93 Trillion, According To A Study Co-Authored By Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Former Director Of The Congressional Budget Office. (Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Dan Bosch, Ben Gitis, Dan Goldbeck, and Philip Rossetti, "The Green New Deal: Scope, Scale, And Implications, American Action Forum , 2/25/19)
- Over The Last 10 Years The U.S. Spent 13.1 Trillion On Discretionary Spending. ( CBO , Accessed 2/25/19)
91 Cosponsors Have Signed Onto The Resolution. ( H.Res.109 , Introduced 2/7/19)
The Resolution Is A "Progressive Wishlist To Fix What They Perceive As All That Ails Society." "'What she asks for in this manifesto goes beyond decarbonization and gets into a progressive wishlist to fix what they perceive as all that ails society,' Pyle said. The proposal takes its name from the New Deal, the 1930s-era package of policies pushed by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt to bring the United States out of the Depression, mainly through investments in federal jobs programs." ( The Hill , 11/24/18)
The Only Concreate Way Rep. Ocasio-Cortez Has Proposed To Pay For Her Plan Is A Tax On Americans Earning More Than $10 Million A Year That Would Raise Just $720 Billon, Or .8% Of The Revenue Needed To Make The Plan Cost Neutral. "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) floated a 60 to 70 percent tax rate on the richest Americans in an interview with CBS News's "60 Minutes" that was released Friday, arguing higher taxes on multimillionaires could help pay for the "Green New Deal" she and other left-wing members of the Democratic Party have proposed. Talking to Anderson Cooper, the new House member suggested the new tax rate apply to Americans earning more than $10 million a year, noting that similar rates existed in America a few decades ago… How much revenue could new taxes on the rich really raise? We looked at the numbers, enlisting the help of a number of tax experts, including Mark Mazur, a former Treasury Department official now at the Tax Policy Center, a centrist think tank; Joel Slemrod, a tax expert at the University of Michigan; and Ernie Tedeschi, an economist who served in President Obama's Treasury Department. 1. $720 billion/decade: Ocasio-Cortez's suggestion for nearly doubling taxes on people earning more than $10 million." (Jeff Stein, "Ocasio-Cortez Wants Higher Taxes On Very Rich Americans. Here's How Much Money That Could Raise.," The Washington Post , 1/5/19)
Further, The Green New Deal Has The Backing Of Nearly All The Democrats Declared As Candidates Seeking The Party's 2020 Nomination. "The plan has the backing of almost all the Democrats declared as candidates seeking the party's 2020 presidential nomination." ( Reuters , 3/26/19)
DEMOCRATS FAILED TO PRESENT A BUDGET COUNTER PROPOSAL TO PRESIDENT TRUMP'S BUDGET
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi Has Is Adamant That A Budget Is A Reflection Of Values
Nancy Pelosi: "Show Us Your Values, Show Us Your Budget That's Where We See The Values." "And back here, we have faced some challenges since last week. We passed the May 15 date, which is when we were expecting a budget from the Republican side. No matter how bad the budget was, a road to ruin, it still wasn't bad enough to get a majority vote from the Republican side. I said over and over: Show us your values, show us your budget. That's where we see the values." ( Speaker Nancy Pelosi , 4/13/16)
Nancy Pelosi: "Show Me Your Values. Show Me Your Budget ." "So I would say to them: show me your values. Show me your budget. They have a budget that will cut nutrition for like 22 million children and cut food, meals for 3 million children. Is that a statement of values? Is that budget a statement of values? Is that a statement of their spirituality? About caring for a person as one of God's children worthy of dignity and respect?" ( Speaker Nancy Pelosi , 4/9/19)
Nancy Pelosi: "The Federal Budget Should Be A Reflection Of Our National Values." "I'll focus on the budget piece. As the Chairman has said, we are going into meeting a deadline for when a budget is due. I'm not so interested in the process of it, as I am in the substance of it. What is a budget? The federal budget should be a reflection of our national values. What is important to us as a country should be reflected in how we allocate our resources. When we talk to people about issues that relate to state governments or national governments throughout the world - show me your budget. Because you show me your budget and we will see what you value in your country." ( Speaker Nancy Pelosi , 4/13/16)
By Speaker Pelosi's Standard, House Democrats Have No Values, As They "Opted Out" Of Releasing A Counterproposal To President Trump's 2020 Budget Outline
House Democrats "Punted" On Releasing A Budget Blueprint, Instead Their Bill Raises Funding Caps And "Effectively Opt[ing] Out Of Outlining Their Own Budget Priorities" In The Face Of A Divided Caucus. "House Democrats formally punted on releasing a budget blueprint on Tuesday, instead unveiling a bill that would increase military and domestic spending caps by more than $350 billion over the next two years. The proposal frustrated fiscal hawks on both sides of the aisle and Democrats on the party's left flank who balked at the prospect of increasing military spending. It also meant that House Democrats, without a blueprint to counter the one the Trump administration released last month, had effectively opted out of outlining their own budget priorities in the face of a divided government and division within their caucus." ( New York Times , 4/2/19)
- Democrats Couldn't Even Agree On General Spending Increases They Proposed In Lieu Of An Actual Budget And Speaker Nancy Pelosi Was Forced To Delay Voting On The Measure An "Embarrassing" Defeat For The New Majority. "Furious opposition from both the House Democrats' most ardent liberals and their fiscal hawks forced Democratic leaders on Tuesday to delay voting on a two-year budget measure that would increase military and domestic spending, an embarrassing send-off as the new majority prepared to leave for a three-day retreat. The decision to indefinitely postpone the vote underscored the Democrats' lack of unity almost 100 days into their majority and the challenge facing Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team as they try to bridge an ideological gap between upstart progressives flexing their muscles and more moderate members clinging to their Republican-leaning seats." ( The New York Times , 4/9/19)
DEMOCRATS HAVE EMBRACED EVEN MORE EXTREME RHETORIC AND POSITIONS INCLUDING FAILING TO REJECT ANTI-SEMITISM IN THEIR OWN PARTY
Under Pelosi's Regime, Democrats Have Faced Questions Of Anti-Semitism As The New Democratic Freshmen Class Has Come Out Strongly Against Israel
In February 2019, Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Responded To A Tweet Accusing Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Of Targeting Omar And Talib For Their Beliefs On Israel. "The controversy began with a tweet on Sunday night, when Omar responded to a journalist who accused the Republican minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, of 'attacking free speech' by targeting Omar and Tlaib, who is Palestinian American, for expressing a divergent view on Israel." ( The Guardian , 2/11/19)
Omar Responded By Claiming It Was "All About The Benjamins Baby" Referring To The $100 Bill. "'It's all about the Benjamins, baby,' Omar responded, a reference to Benjamin Franklin, whose face is on the $100 bill." ( The Guardian , 2/11/19)
- Omar Escalated The Situation By Responding To A Tweet That Asked Who Omar Believed Was "Paying American Politicians To Be Pro-Israel," Omar Responded With "AIPAC," The Pro-Israel Lobby Group. "That tweet generated a response from a Jewish journalist who asked Omar who she believed was 'paying American politicians to be pro-Israel.' The congresswoman replied: 'AIPAC,' referring to influential pro-Israel lobby group, the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee." ( The Guardian , 2/11/19)
Omar's Comments "Touched Upon A Long-Running, Particularly Ugly, Thread Of The Anti-Semitic Movement." "Omar's comments touched upon a long-running, and particularly ugly, thread of the anti-Semitic movement - that Jewish money fuels backing for Israel in the United States and elsewhere." ( Politico , 2/10/19)
Both Omar And Freshman Democratic Representative Rashida Talib (D-MI) Have Expressed Support For The Palestinian-Led BDS Movement Over The Israeli Government. "Omar and freshman Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib - the first two Muslim women elected to Congress - have signaled support for the Palestinian-led BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) against the Israeli government over its treatment of Palestinians." ( Politico , 2/10/19)
- The BDS Movement Calls For Boycotting And Divesting From Israeli Companies And Sanctioning The Israeli Government. ("What Is BDS," The BDS Movement, Accessed 3/11/19)

Then In Late February 2019, At An Event With Talib, Omar Referenced "Dual Loyalty" With Her Comments About The "Political Influence In This Country That Says It Is Okay To Push For Allegiance To A Foreign Country," Referring To The Politicians And Special Interest Groups "Trying To Pressure Her And Others To Support Israel." "The negative connotation surrounding accusations of dual loyalty seems to be why Democrats and Republicans alike are irked by remarks Omar made last Wednesday during an event with Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib at Busboys and Poets in Washington." 'I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country,' Omar said, referring to politicians and special interest groups trying to pressure her and others to support Israel." ( Roll Call , 3/4/19)
- That Comment Led To New Criticism From Members Of Both Parties That "Omar Is Espousing Anti-Semitic Views." "That remark has led to new criticism from members of both parties that Omar is espousing anti-Semitic views." ( Roll Call , 3/4/19)
Omar Has Refused To Apologize For Her Remarks. "Despite calls to do so, Omar is not apologizing this time." ( Roll Call , 3/4/19)
House Democrats Once Strongly Condemned The Anti-Semitic Thoughts Of Their Fellow Democratic Colleagues, But Fell Short When It Came To Developing A Resolution Directly Condemning The Speech From Omar
In February 2019, After Omar Suggested Israel's Allies Were Motivated By Money, Pelosi And Fellow Democratic Leadership "Condemned" Omar For Her Comments. "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the entire Democratic leadership on Monday condemned Rep. Ilhan Omar for suggesting that Israel's allies in American politics were motivated by money rather than principle, an extraordinary rebuke of a House freshman in the vanguard of the party's left flank." ( The Washington Post , 2/11/19)
- Pelosi And Fellow Democrat Leadership Demanded That Omar Apologize, However, Omar Claimed That It Was Not Her Intention To Offend "My Constituents Or Jewish Americans As A Whole." "Within hours, Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the leadership issued a joint statement calling Omar's 'use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel's supporters' deeply offensive and insisted on an apology. In response, Omar said her intention was never to offend 'my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. . . . This is why I unequivocally apologize.'" ( The Washington Post , 2/11/19)
In Late February 2019, House Democratic Leaders Signaled That They Would Vote On A Resolution Condemning Anti-Semitism In An Effort To Respond To Comments Made By Omar. "House Democratic leaders on Wednesday will call up a vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism - a move meant to respond to anti-Israel comments made by Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar." ( Roll Call , 2/4/19)
However In March 2019, Democratic Leaders Moved "Broaden A Resolution Condemning Anti-Semitism To Encompass Other Types Of Religious Bigotry." "Democratic leaders moved Tuesday to broaden a resolution condemning anti-Semitism to encompass other types of religious bigotry after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other liberal lawmakers and groups bristled at the attempt to sanction Rep. Ilhan Omar for comments targeting supporters of Israel." ( The Washington Post , 3/5/19)
- The Plan To Use The Resolution To "Specifically" Target Anti-Semitism Was "Thrown Into Doubt" After The Democratic Caucus Became "Split" On Condemning Omar's Remarks Directly . "Top party officials drew up plans specifically targeting anti-Semitism - circulating a draft Monday that did not mention Omar (D-Minn.) directly but came in response to remarks she made last week suggesting that Israel's supporters have an 'allegiance to a foreign country.' But Tuesday those plans were thrown into doubt after the response split the Democratic caucus, with several lawmakers angry that the House was poised to vote on a measure indirectly condemning Omar while failing to denounce the vitriol that she has faced as a Muslim." ( The Washington Post , 3/5/19)
Just Weeks After Her Previous Anti-Semitic Remarks, Rep. Ihlan Omar (D-MN) Would Go On To Downplay The Terrorist Attacks On 9-11 Describing The Event As A Day When "Some People Did Something"
Rep. Ihlan Omar (D-MN) Gave A Keynote Speech To The council On American-Islamic Relations In Late March 2019. "Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar described the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States in a nonspecific way during a recent speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Omar delivered the keynote speech at a fundraiser for CAIR in late March and urged Muslim Americans to 'raise hell' and 'make people uncomfortable.'" ( The Daily Caller , 04/09/19)
During The Remarks, Omar Said "CAIR Was Founded After 9/11 Because They Recognized That Some People Did Something, And That All Of Us Were Starting To Lose Access To Our Civil Liberties." "'CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,' Omar said." ( The Daily Caller , 04/09/19)
"Cair Has Ties To Islamic Terrorist Groups And Was List As An Unindicted Co-Conspirator In Funneling Millions Of Dollars To Hamas." "CAIR has notable ties to Islamic terrorist groups and was listed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) as an unindicted co-conspirator in funneling millions of dollars to Hamas." ( The Daily Caller , 04/09/19)
Democrats Have Become Radically Anti-Abortion Including Opposing Legislation That Would Stop Infanticide
On April 10, 2019, Democrats Refused To Allow A Vote On The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act, Legislation That Would Have Worked To Stop Infanticide And Provide Medical Care And Treatment For Babies Who Survive Abortions. "Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats continue to refuse a request to allow a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation that would stop infanticide and provide medical care and treatment for babies who survive abortions." ( LifeNews , 04/10/19)
The Refusal Was the 32nt Time Democrats Obstructed Holding A Vote On The Bill. "Today, House Democrats refused a vote on the bill for the 32nd time - reading the same statement they have read the previous 30 occasions that claims there is no bipartisan agreement to bring the bill up for a vote. Despite the claim, Republican leaders have repeatedly asked Pelosi and top Democrats to reach an agreement for the bill to receive a vote." ( LifeNews , 04/10/19)
Democrats Blocked The Bill Despite National Polling Which Shows Americans Including Pro-Choice Americans Oppose Abortion Up To Birth And Infanticide. "The blocking of a vote on a bill to stop infanticide come even as national polling shows Americans - including people who are "pro-choice" on abortion - oppose abortion up to birth and infanticide . And doctors indicate abortions are never needed to protect a woman's health and women admit having abortions on healthy babies ." ( LifeNews , 04/10/19)
DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TO OBSTRUCT AND FAVOR POROUS BORDERS, RISKING THE LIVES OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
Despite The Crisis, Democrats Have Continued To Obstruct President Trump's Immigration Policy, Including Opposing His National Emergency Declaration
In February 2019, 232 House Democrats Voted To Oppose President Trump's National Emergency Declaration To Unlock Money For Wall Construction On The Southern Border. "The House on Tuesday rebuked President Donald Trump over one of his signature issues, passing a resolution to overturn his emergency declaration to unlock money for wall construction at the US southern border. The vote was 245-182. Thirteen Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the measure. The resolution will next be taken up by the Senate, where it will put Republican unity to the test, though Senate leaders have signaled they will not bring it to a vote immediately." ( CNN , 02/26/19)
The National Emergency Declaration Would Allow Relevant Military Departments To Order As Many Reserve Units Or Members To Assist And Support The Activities Of Homeland Security At The Southern Border. "The Secretary of Defense, or the Secretary of each relevant military department, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, shall order as many units or members of the Ready Reserve to active duty as the Secretary concerned, in the Secretary's discretion, determines to be appropriate to assist and support the activities of the Secretary of Homeland Security at the southern border." ( Federal Register , 02/20/19)
The National Emergency Declaration Would Also Free Up $8 Billion To Build 234 Miles Of Border Wall. "The national emergency and other measures will free up $8 billion - far more than the $5.7 billion he initially demanded - to free up funding for 234 miles of bollard wall, the White House said. It's a move that is almost guaranteed to draw the White House into a lengthy legal battle over the president's ability to use the tool for that purpose." ( USA Today , 02/15/19)
As Of January And February 2019, The Office of Field Operations And U.S. Border Patrol Seized A Combined 282,939 Pounds Of Drugs Coming Across The Border

U.S. Customs And Border Protection (CBP) Play A "Vital Role In Interdicting Illicit Narcotics" Before They Enter The United States. "U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) plays a vital role in interdicting illicit narcotics before they can enter the United States. This role is particularly important given the rise of the opioid epidemic and the increasing use of fentanyl, which is overwhelmingly produced outside the United States." ( Committee On Homeland Security And Governmental Affairs , 5/23/18)
In January 2019, CBP Seized $46. Million In Fentanyl And Methamphetamine At The Port Of Nogales, This Resulted In The "Largest Seizure Of Fentanyl In CBP History." "U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Nogales Commercial Facility seized nearly $4.6 million in fentanyl and methamphetamine totaling close to 650 pounds on Saturday from a Mexican national when he attempted to enter the United States through the Port of Nogales. The seizure is the largest seizure of fentanyl in CBP history. The methamphetamine seizure represents the third largest at an Arizona port." ( U.S. Customs And Border Protection , 1/30/19)

Unfortunately, when it comes time to remove the other 90% - who have been determined by an immigration judge to have no legal rights to stay in the United States - they have absconded from their last known location. And we do not have sufficient resources to find them." ( U.S. House Committee On Homeland Security , 03/06/19)
Nielsen Reported That Smugglers And Traffickers Are Exploiting These Migrants And More Than 30% Of Women Reported Sexual Assault Along The Way. "In one study, more than 30 percent of women reported sexual assault along the way, and 70 percent of all migrants reported experience violence.
