The insults are adding up

Mandi Merritt - September 12, 2018

Good afternoon,

As President Obama heads to Ohio tomorrow, Ohioans are bracing for more insults.

In a speech last week, President Obama insulted the millions of Ohioans that voted for President Donald Trump when he said that "the politics of division and resentment and paranoia has unfortunately found a home in the Republican Party.”

This dramatic and offensive mischaracterization comes on the heels of this week's 2-year anniversary of Hillary Clinton's infamous gaffe when she said that Donald Trump’s supporters belong in a “basket of deplorables” as they have “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and Islamaphobic” views.

It's only fitting that Obama is coming to fundraise for yet another Democrat that has made outrageous claims against Republicans - Richard Cordray.  After using the term 'Nazi' to describe President Trump and the White House, Cordray has refused to apologize. Instead, he doubled down on these comments and compared Ohio Republicans to "Nazi collaborators" too.

"When will Democrats learn that they can't just discount the millions of Americans that think differently than they do? Ohioans rejected the continuation of Obama policies in 2016 and won't take kindly to more of these Democrats' insults. Ohioans are happy with the direction we're headed under strong Republican leadership." - RNC Spokesperson Mandi Merritt
