U.S. job openings climb to record 6.9 million

Miki Carver - September 12, 2018

In case you missed it, a Market Watch report out yesterday confirmed that the number of job openings in the U.S. climbed to a record 6.9 million in July, with more workers quitting old jobs for better pay at new ones.

The report also points out that job growth surged in the spring and has carried through the summer. On top of that, unemployment remains at an “uber-low” of 3.9%, layoffs are at a 50-year low, and small-business owners are more optimistic about the economy than ever.

“The record-high number of job openings reported this week is even more clear and convincing evidence that GOP policies are working for hard-working American families. Meanwhile, Jon Tester will continue to ignore all this good news and hope that voters forget about his vote against tax cuts for Montana families.” - RNC Spokesperson Miki Carver
