Visiting A Boeing Supplier In A Right To Work State

RNC Communications - June 28, 2011

It might be a mere coincidence but it’s worth noting the irony that President Obama is visiting a plant located in Iowa – a right to work state – that supplies Boeing while at the same time his National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is trying to shut down a Boeing plant in South Carolina, another right to work state. With that being said, President Obama has still not said where he stands on the NLRB action despite the fact that his own nominee to be Commerce Secretary said the Obama administration lawsuit was wrong

Check out the facts below:

Today, Obama Is Visiting Alcoa Manufacturing Plant In Davenport, IA. “The White House said Thursday that Obama will visit the Alcoa aluminum manufacturing plant in Davenport, which employs 2,000 workers and generated $800 million in revenue last year.” (Donnelle Eller, “Obama To Visit Workers At Davenport Factory Next Week,” The Des Moines Register, 6/24/11)

Alcoa Davenport Plant Makes High-Tech Alloys And Wings For Major Aircraft, Including Boeing’s Planes. “The plant makes high-tech alloys and wings for all major aircraft, including Airbus' A380, the world's largest passenger plane, and Boeing's 747-8 and 777.” (Donnelle Eller, “Obama To Visit Workers At Davenport Factory Next Week,” The Des Moines Register, 6/24/11)
