Good news for 1,200 Missourians – Great Southern Bancorp, Inc., a Springfield-based banking company, announced that it will give a $1,000 bonus to full-time employees and a $500 bonus to part-time employees following the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
But who couldn’t be bothered to comment after voting against these bonuses for Missourians? Air Claire.
Springfield News-Leader:“A spokeswoman for McCaskill said the Missouri Democrat would not comment on Great Southern's bonuses…”
$1,000 might not seem like a lot to Air Claire who believes private jets are for normal people and owns a $2.7 million residence in City Center that’s been deemed “D.C.’s Destination for the One Percent,” but it’s significant to her constituents.
And it isn’t just Great Southern Bancorp, other Missouri businesses are giving out bonuses in light of the bill’s passage:
Commerce Bancshares will award $1,000 to all full-time employees and a $250 cash payment to all part-time employees.
Kansas City Southern will give eligible, non-executive employees a $1,000 bonus.
“The fact that Claire McCaskill couldn’t be bothered to comment on bonuses for her own constituents goes to show just how out of touch the D.C. elitist truly is when it comes to the people of Missouri. You can bet it will be remembered that McCaskill decided to side with Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, over Missourians and their hard-earned dollars.” – RNC Spokesperson Christiana Purves
